Migration Tasmania has confirmed a new ROI invitation round on 1 October 2026. It issued 38 invitations to apply for subclass 190 nomination, comprising 7 Gold and 31 Green invitations, and 34 subclass 491 invitations. What changed from 24 September?
Subclass 190 remained at 38 invitations, but the mix changed from 20 Gold and 18 Green to 7 Gold and 31 Green. Its lowest invited ROI priority score moved from 352 to 331. Subclass 491 increased from 24 to 34 invitations and its lowest score moved from 72 to 71, with no Gold invitations in either round. These figures reflect the ROI pool, verified priority attributes and settings for this round. They are not permanent thresholds for every occupation or pathway. Tasmania did not publish occupation, pathway or onshore/offshore breakdowns.
Places, ROIs and invitations do not move one-for-one
Available nomination places moved from 992 to 979 for subclass 190 and from 712 to 704 for subclass 491. Those changes do not match the 38 and 34 invitations because invitations, nomination lodgements, decisions and other rolling activity occur at different stages. Remaining places, submitted ROIs and unlodged invitations are not the number promised for the next round.
Keep the two score measures separate
The page also reports three-month rolling assessment reference scores of 457 for subclass 190 and 79 for subclass 491. These are risk references used when priority attributes are verified during assessment. They are not the 1 October invitation scores and are not forecasts for the next round. The 331 and 71 figures are Tasmania ROI priority scores, not federal SkillSelect EOI points.
Three checks for candidates waiting or invited
- Ensure employment dates, weekly hours, earnings, residence and study records align with the ROI and supporting evidence.
- If invited, note the deadline and re-check every points-bearing and priority claim before lodgement.
- Do not treat the lowest score as a guarantee of an invitation, nomination approval or future-round outcome.
