Employer
The business must be eligible for the proposed agreement route and demonstrate a genuine workforce need with appropriate business and recruitment evidence.
Employer-sponsored agreement framework
Labour Agreements are the broader framework. DAMA is one regional Labour Agreement pathway—not a visa that an applicant can access independently.
START WITH THE COMBINATION
This page is a framework for identifying the right questions. It is not an agreement occupation directory or an individual eligibility tool.
The business must be eligible for the proposed agreement route and demonstrate a genuine workforce need with appropriate business and recruitment evidence.
For DAMA, the role must genuinely be performed in the covered designated area. Other agreement types have their own scope.
The actual duties, terms and nominated role must fit the agreement in force. A role name alone is never enough.
The worker must meet the available visa and agreement criteria with evidence. An agreement does not replace individual eligibility.
ONE FRAMEWORK · THREE SETTINGS
The applicable agreement, visa access and terms depend on the exact setting approved by the Australian Government. Do not assume terms from a different region, industry or business apply.
A regional Labour Agreement route administered through a designated area representative (DAR). It applies only where the employer, role and work location fit that DAMA.
Pre-set arrangements for specified industries. The industry, business and proposed role must fit the current official settings.
A possible route for an individual business with needs not adequately addressed by standard programs or another available agreement pathway.
DAMA · TWO-TIER STRUCTURE
The Australian Government and the DAR set the regional framework.
An eligible employer seeks DAR endorsement and its own agreement within that framework.
Only then can the available nomination and visa stages be considered.
