WA publishes 14 October nomination results: 1,227 invitations across 190 and 491
WA has confirmed its 14 October priority trade and non-trade invitations. We explain the four stream totals, occupation EOI records and an unresolved qualification label; all 92 occupation rows are retained in the WA archive.
Migration WA has published the results of invitations issued on 14 October 2026 for priority trade and non-trade occupations. Across four streams, the round comprised 1,227 invitations: 836 for subclass 190 and 391 for subclass 491. We checked the official material on 26 October; that is the verification and article publication date, not the invitation date. The useful detail lies in the streams, residence and last-invited occupation records, not simply the headline total.
1. General Schedule 2 accounts for most invitations
| Stream | 190 | 491 | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| General — WASMOL Schedule 1 | 118 | 0 | 118 |
| General — WASMOL Schedule 2 | 586 | 362 | 948 |
| Graduate — Higher education | 99 | 13 | 112 |
| Graduate — VET | 33 | 16 | 49 |
| Round total | 836 | 391 | 1,227 |
General Schedule 2 accounted for 948 invitations: 586 for 190 and 362 for 491. Schedule 1 recorded 118, all for 190. Graduate higher education recorded 112 and Graduate VET 49. The zero for Schedule 1/491 is expressly published in the count table. It must not be confused with the dashes used in other profile tables.
2. September, October and year-to-date are different measures
The 2026–27 monthly table shows 1,100 invitations in September, 1,227 in October and 2,327 year-to-date. It would be wrong to describe 2,327 as the 14 October round or as WA's annual nomination allocation. The material does not supply exact September round dates. We retain the published monthly figures without inventing a dated September invitation record.
3. Some offshore construction trades show 65 points, not every occupation
In the official trade PDF, the last invited General Schedule 2 records for Bricklayer, Carpenter, Electrician (General) and Plumber (General) show Overseas residence and 65 EOI points. Other trades have different scores and residence records. Electrical Linesworker, for example, shows Overseas/115, while Stonemason shows WA/65. A selected 65-point example is not a state-wide cut-off.
The occupation PDFs list stream, occupation, residence, EOI points and submission date. They do not identify 190 or 491 against each occupation row and do not give invitation counts by occupation. Separate website profiles split by visa do not justify assigning a subclass to an individual PDF row. The table below therefore retains only what the occupation documents establish.

4. Compare nursing, hospitality, engineering and teaching within the right stream
| Official occupation and ANZSCO | Stream | Residence | EOI points | EOI date (DD/MM/YYYY) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bricklayer (331111) | General — Schedule 2 | Overseas | 65 | 24/09/2026 |
| Carpenter (331212) | General — Schedule 2 | Overseas | 65 | 22/09/2026 |
| Electrician (General) (341111) | General — Schedule 2 | Overseas | 65 | 01/10/2026 |
| Plumber (General) (334111) | General — Schedule 2 | Overseas | 65 | 23/09/2026 |
| Registered Nurse (Aged Care) (254412) | General — Schedule 1 | WA | 95 | 21/04/2026 |
| Registered Nurse (Critical Care and Emergency) (254415) | General — Schedule 1 | WA | 85 | 26/03/2025 |
| Registered Nurses nec (254499) | General — Schedule 1 | WA | 85 | 07/03/2026 |
| Chef (351311) | General — Schedule 2 | WA | 90 | 18/11/2025 |
| Civil Engineer (233211) | Graduate — Higher education | WA | 85 | 24/12/2024 |
| Early Childhood (Pre-primary School) Teacher (241111) | Graduate — Higher education | WA | 90 | 30/09/2026 |
Within General Schedule 1, Registered Nurse (Aged Care) shows 95 points, while Registered Nurse (Critical Care and Emergency) and Registered Nurses nec show 85. A related occupation name does not make these interchangeable. The same occupation may also have a different record under a Graduate stream. The overall website profiles and occupation-specific tables measure different levels of detail and should not replace each other.
Submission dates also matter when reading ranked outcomes; points alone do not describe the whole selection. WA warns that the published profiles do not reflect every occupation or visa-subclass cap applied. Our permanent WA history retains all 92 occupation records: 26 trade rows and 66 non-trade rows. That is a row count, not 92 invitations. Neither the points nor the dates promise a later invitation.
5. One published qualification label remains unresolved
An occupation appearing under a VET or higher-education heading in a result PDF is not, by itself, a new admission rule for that stream. Invitation evidence and individual eligibility must be checked separately. This update records the results without changing state nomination or federal visa requirements.
Frequently asked questions
Does an EOI score of 65 guarantee an invitation?
No. It describes selected historical records with particular occupations, streams and residence. Requirements, ranking, evidence and future rounds remain separate considerations. An individual's invitation probability cannot be calculated from these examples.
Does an occupation missing from the PDFs prove no invitation was issued?
No. These documents cover last-invited records for priority trade and non-trade occupations. They are not a separate statement of zero invitations for every unlisted occupation or a complete eligibility list.
Should this be recorded as a 26 October invitation round?
No. The officially stated invitation date is 14 October. We discovered and verified it on 26 October. Records are deduplicated by state, actual date and batch; later publication, discovery or correction does not create another round.
Do these results confirm WA's new defence stream is open?
No. Counts are reported under General Schedules 1/2 and Graduate higher education/VET. They do not establish a defence opening date, occupation scope or personal eligibility.
