Questions before you use the score

Is VPT the same as federal EOI points?

No. VPT ranks Victorian ROIs using seven separately weighted factors. The federal 65-point minimum is not a VPT pass mark. Use the federal calculator separately for visa points.

What VPT score guarantees an invitation?

There is no fixed VPT pass mark or guaranteed invitation score. Victoria ranks ROIs across eligible occupations and within priority industries or subgroups, depending on the pool and available places.

Do single applicants get the 50 partner points?

No. The contribution requires 10 Partner Skills points claimed in the EOI, inclusion of the partner in the visa application and a partner occupation on the current priority list. Single applicants and applicants with an Australian partner receive zero for this factor.

Why can the tool show a subtotal instead of a total?

Unselected or unconfirmed factors remain pending. The current official experience table does not list exactly 8 years, and the earnings table does not state a band below AUD 80,000. The tool does not invent points for these gaps.

Does a priority occupation add extra VPT points?

Priority status is a selection route, not an extra scoring factor. Your partner's priority occupation is one of the three conditions for the partner contribution. Early childhood ROIs with at least one year of relevant experience and Proficient or Superior English also receive stated priority consideration.
